Looking to go 5x100 on my 06 sti ...
Another issue is that he will also have to swap out suspension as well. I'm going to reiterate - don't do it!! The best things in life are well worth waiting for, so just hold off until you can afford to get the wheels you REALLY want rather than robbing Peter to pay Paul.

just my $.02 with all the time it would take to do the swap (TIME=MONEY) spend the extra "time" on wheels that are 5x114.3....
...also don't they make adapters to go 5x100 to 5x114.3 don't they make them to go the other way too???

you are downgrading your hubs, killing part of your resell value because who would want to buy an 06sti with 04 hubs, makes no sense
all for ONE set of rotas...the money/time spent on trying to DOWNGRADE would be enough to buy a legit set of 5x114 wheels

like these grids..?
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ighlight=grids
they'd look good with the black.. although the offset would be some work with the setup..

Not too cool, just too smart. But who am I to argue with stupidity, when nobody has posted anything in this thread but logical, reasonable suggestions? Seriously, pull your head out of your ***, and save up for a set of 5x114 wheels that you like. In the mean time you will probably find a used set that is acceptable.
But lets take a look at what you suggest. You will need 5x100 (04 STI) hubs/knuckles, which will most likely have more miles than your current hubs/knuckles. Considering the wheel bearings are weaker, they will be that much closer to replacement time.
04 STI hubs are also rare, as are 04 STI in general when compared to 05-07 STI.
You will also need 5x100 front struts, which are also a wear item. They are also a different design, and if you get WRX struts they have different dampening. You should also swap springs over.
And then there are the wheels. You are doing all of this so you can go cheap on USED wheels. What if you crack a wheel right off, or buy a bum set? You will be spending all of the money you saved to fix an issue that would have no existed initially had you no been a cheap *** bastard.
Best of luck:|

Its not about being cool, its about being knowledgeable about issues like these and trying to make sure people don't do stupid things like slappin an intake and bov with no tune, or in your case swapping hubs for a lesser product...
Someone said it best, it would be like swapping your VF for a td04 or your 2.5l for a 2.0l, or even your 6spd for a 5spd, yeah it'll work but why downgrade for a set of used rotas?

OP - please don't take this as offensive, just constructive criticism. To reiterate, I understand the idea of aesthetics and we all do things that are marginally valuable to pursue that goal, but this one really does make me scratch my head for all of the above-mentioned reasons and more. To summarize, don't do it.
