I wish i had 5x114.3, they seem to have a wider selection because its the most widely used bolt pattern. The only cars i know still using 5x100 are subies and some scions.
From what ive noticed of 5x114 is some aftermarket wheels are make certain wheels in that pattern for the higher up models or sizes. Basically you wouldnt have to custom order a 5x100 if you went with some legimate wheels.

just out of curiosity, what wheels do you want in 17x9 that isn't 5x114.3?

There's 17x9 in 5x114.3 Grids all over wheeldude.com, unless you don't want to buy new? But it be way more of a hassle to swap hubs then just to buy the wheels brand new.

So you're going through like 8 hours of painful mechanical labor AND downgrading to a weaker mechanical assembly so that you can save a few hundred bucks on USED WHEELS?

Wait and do it right the first time.
