Help! Need fellow subie suggestions

Long story short...my 2010 subaru wrx is without an engine my little brother "fixed it up" while i was away in marine corps and ****ed my engine up so it needs new engine and i cant afford it.. what would be best? spend the 3k on used engine or sell it as is for what i have left to pay.. $9,000.00 thank you any help or suggestions help

Well the mechanic thinks the motor ran too lean my brother put an access port himself and a cold air intake..so he said the motor needs to be replaced and i may love my car but i honestly dont know much about motors

Fix the car. One of your terribly fragile ringlands broke, happens to 50% of us. Not entirely your brothers fault.

Do a compression test. If one has low compression you know your f***ed
The intake was stupid unless it was a COBB, only because the maps the Cobb access port comes with can only work correctly with the COBB intake.
