in the end I would pay a total of $4300. by selling the smaller pistons I would roughly get at least $300 which would make my spending total of $4000. im not sure how much your shortblock set up would cost elsewhere so I wouldn't know if this would be considered a good deal or not....
So mike, what would you sell it for as is?

I'd let it for for $1,600. I stand to make $1,600 if I have it rebuilt.
Although, I may be taking it to RBMS tomorrow to drop it off and have them look it over, Jamison. Will let everyone know what conclusions Mert comes to.
I think your math is wrong.
You buy it from me for less than I paid for it. Obviously. You add about $1,600 for the tear down, hone/bore, and rebuild with new 99.75mm pistons. Then you sell the 99.5mm pistons for a few hundred.
My math says you're out about $3,000 total, give or take.
As per my comment above, I think I've decided to take the block to Mert and have him look it over. I'd like to get an official opinion on this. But I did send him pictures, and he recommends bore/hone, larger 99.75mm pistons, and a rebuild.

so if I were to purchase the shortblock I would pay $2700 and another $1600 to fix the scoring.
