1999 Forester S
5 Spd Manual
161,XXX miles
Salvaged Title

Hello fellow i-club peoples! I am selling my 1999 Forester S 5 Spd. Reason being, I no longer need it as a commuter and I am looking into buying an FXT. I purchased it January 2015 as a commuter car to get me around and not put miles on my WRX. My new job has given me a work van so I no longer need a commuter. I had plans to do all this crazy stuff, but plans change. It does hold a salvaged title and I took what the previous owner said with a grain of salt because he was told what happened to the car from the owner before him, and we all know how the grape vine is. It is registered until Jan. 2017 and I will get smogged prior to sale. I'd prefer to avoid craigslist if possible due to it being craigslist, and I'd like to see the car go to someone that is a Subie enthusiast and will take care of it.

The A/C works better than all 3 of my other cars so I drove it around more than the others this summer. Heater also works great as do the butt warmers and all tires are at 9/32nds. Wheels have been plastidipped black because underneath that poorly sprayed coat is some strange I dont even know what it was, but it wouldnt come off so I covered it instead. Only things I have replaced are the spark plugs and wires, and the clutch Master and Slave cylinders.

Long list of modifications:
Lowered on WRX struts and springs (will include stock ones)
Rally Armor mudflaps

It is in good condition and runs really well but it does have problems. Fourth gear pops out occasionally so I have to keep my hand on the shift lever while in 4th. I assume it to be the dog teeth on that synchro have been ground down so it will need either a new transmission, or new internals. I've seen transmissions online for fairly good prices and theres always partouts as well. The front right strut clunks sometimes when turning and accelerating, usually when I'm going into a parking lot. Cruise control does not work, havent looked into why, and the overhead temperature module is dead so you cant see how nice or awful the weather is outside.

Thanks for looking! If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM.

Asking $1800 or credit towards a nice FXT + cash on my end.
