SOLD

I have a 2002 WRX 5 Speed with sub 40K original miles (~18-20K on build) with a 1-4 STI Ver 6 RA REM treated gearset. Also the trans has an OBX helical front diff with upgraded bolts and washers. In addition I have a used Exedy lightweight flywheel that needs a resurface, a brand new ACT clutch disc (my original plan part # 3000502 to 420 ft/lbs with ACT pressure plate), a used Exedy pressure plate from my stage 1 HD clutch kit, a group N trans mount, TIC pivot bushings, Kartboy rear shifter bushings, stock shifter and stock ***. It makes for a stock looking tight setup. I have ALL receipts for the Flat Irons RA gears, installation at P&L Motorsports, and all associated bushings etc. I am selling due to an upgrade to a Dom 1.5 XTR and a JDM 6 speed ... but in all honesty I severely miss the gear ratios in the 5 speed. They were perfect $1999 for a new gears STi RA Close Ratio Gearsets Plus Install ~$600-800 OBX Diff ~$500 OBX Diffs - NASIOC Plus Core You can't even make one for this price even with YOUR core! $2250 OBO. I am located in Berkeley, California

what is your final gear, 4.444 or 4.111? and will you sell the matching R160 with it?

Unfortunately I can't as the (3.90) R160 is in my car running off a 07 Sti 6 speed. Let me know if your still interested all you would need is a stock WRX R160. I had planned on replacing the current R160 but I need to sell the 5 speed for funding .

Ah 3.90, no can do. Bump for you however. (I need to go no higher than 4.11 and would rather stick with 4.444)

What RPMs were you running at 70-75 MPH?

eastbaysubaru:
I would run ~80 mph in 5th gear just like a stock wrx . 1-4 were STI RA gears with the stock fifth so it made it just as good as stock. Here is the calculator: Says 3000 rpm at 77-78 mph.

crayolasilvrwrx:
I do not (yet). We shall see as I do not yet have the diff controller hooked up. But currently the gearing on the 07 JDM Sti is poor in comparison to the 5 speed with RA gears. Plus 6th gearon the JDM 6 speed is rather tall (.842) . In retrospect I would rather have the long 5th/6th conversion (.707) so I can cruise at lower rpms in final gear. The reason I went with a 6 speed was the timing was right as I went from an 18G to a DOM 1.5 on E85 and had future plans to go beyond this.
