Wheels for 2008 STI...HELP!

I am about to trade a 2007 STI for a 2008 STI. The 2007 had 17 inch wheels and i have a practically new set of snow tires for this car. The 2008 has 18 inch wheels. If i buy 17 inch rims, can I use the 17 inch snow tires on the 2008 STI???? I'm trying to save a buck and not have to buy new tires.

No you can't use 17" tires on an 18" wheel.
No bueno.

Sell the tires on craigslist or here instead.

if your taking to the snow on those 17 inches it shouldnt even matter if it looks different. i mean common thats why your keeping those 17s right? once you come back from the snow you slap back on your 18s and your find. just check to see if it fits over the brembos. dotn worrya bout the bolt pattern its the same.

And 08STI's and 09STI's are identical.. 'cept for white..

Edit: What are the offsets of your 17"'s? Brembo's are the same so they should fit 17" wheels.. So it all depends on offset..
