STRUT ADVISE PLEASE HELP. 1997 Impreza Outback Sport 2.2L

Hello fellow Subaru enthusiast's. My name's Edgar. I'll just start off by saying my car now has 432,505 miles on it. It's a 1997 Impreza Outback Sport 2.2 L AWD. I have spent a ton of money to keep her running great over the past decade and half.

She was recently stolen in front of my home. Great New, i was very lucky to recover her. Who ever took her for a joy ride, messed up my Alignment. Nate Wade now says I need new struts before I get my alignment done. I'm ok with that. Ride's getting a little bumpy these days running on my factory struts. Ok, I'll admit, it's very rough.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate some feedback on some decent struts for my car. Size, brand, good price, even maybe give her a tiny 1.5" lift if possible just by replacing the struts. I have heard that some people have used Forester struts, not quite sure, there wasn't enough thread info to go off of.

I inquired through Rockauto.com, but they also have many variants. I'm looking somewhere around the $50-$70 dollar range plus shipping. Of course, great, but cheaper would always be nice as well.

I really love my car and want her to make to 500,000 then to 1,000,000 if i can help it.

So, thank you in advance for your imput. I really appreciate the feedback ladies and gents.

Cheers,

-Deadgar

Wagon struts are perfect fit.

Sedan struts will give you positive camber. (not recommended)

Forester struts are indeed taller, but not sure how they affect alignment.

Some GR-2s would be good replacements for what you have already. Any impreza from 1993 to 2001 will fit your car. For a simple daily driver, i think the GR-2s would be just fine.

Thank you very much for your input. So, since my car isn't a sedan, it's a wagon, you recommend the GR-2's? Do you suggest that I replace the springs as well. My mileage is very high now.

Thanks again for your input.

If you plan on raising, look at Forester struts and springs. Should raise 1.5-2"
