newbie question

Hey iclubbers!

So on the later models i think 06+ and 04+ sti have the dash board light up with all the meters jumping then going back to idle when you turn your car on to accessory, is that a swap or how do you get it? sorry if i'm too vague on what i'm trying to ask ><

Thanks,
Geo

It's called an "opening ceremony" and it is a function of the gauge cluster. If you want it, find an STI cluster and swap it into your car. I'm not sure if all the USDM STI clusters do this, but it seems the JDM ones definitely do.

would I need to do any changes in order to install the cluster or it fits as is?

the jdm clusters read distance in kilometers and temperature in celcius, but there is also a "conversion" cable available, I don't know if it is for some or all versions. Other than that, as long as it comes from the same body style as your car, it should bolt right in.
