Congrats, man, welcome to the world of Subaru!
Wow, you'll get a ton of different recommendations about the exhaust, and perhaps a few flames about the intake.
Me: Cobb Catback. Plans for the Cobb catted DP and will leave intake stock.
Real quick, you don't need an intake for the STI. If you want to hear the turbo whistle/whoosh, get the SPT intake, but you may lose power. Alternatives are to get the Cobb Intake too and do the snorkel delete, etc.
Exhaust, what are your tastes? Loud? Deep? Loud at idle okay? Flashy look/stealth look? Cannon shooter okay? Budget? Catted or non catted? Emissions a concern?

stock intake, catback exhaust if you want to keep warranty, or turboback if you want to make power, don't forget about reprogramming/engine management
stock intake is fine. i'll just copy/paste this, read and weep it!
"INSTALLING AN INTAKE PREMATURELY
I fully understand the reasoning behind this mod in some WRX owner’s eyes. In most other cars a good Intake is worth 5 to 10 hp, however not so in the WRX. It does change the turbo spool sound to add a quite nice scream at full boost, however can potentially damage your engine, not to mention little to no power gain. The stock intake (minus the resonator, See Exhaust for diagram) is capable of 325 hp. Intakes simply lean your car out (More Air Less Fuel) to gain power and can seriously hurt your engine and turbo if installed before engine management and injector upgrades."

welcome and congrats on the new purchase
leave the stock air box on for now
you won't need it until you exceed 300+whp
best thing is top let it break in and get it protuned either with ecutek or my suggestion an AP
the factory flash is hit or miss and it leads to some weird throttle response around 3500-4500 rpm

Car Info: nothing right now
i had the spt intake on awhile back, took it off and sold it within a week. for me, it was just noise i didn't want and no, i didn't feel any gains.
EVERYTIME you accelerate, you'll hear a whooshing sound. get's annoying real quick.
just my $.02.
