Hi, I just bought a '13 WRX couple weeks ago and I know it's a stupid question But I had to ask. Tried searching and couldn't find anything.

When you are in the car with the door locked, usually you can use the handle and the door unlocks automatically. Not in this car, you have to unlock it first then use the handle. Is there a way to change that from happening? Or is that kind of a Subaru safety type thing?

 

I think it's a safety thing, my 2008 does the same thing

 

to be honest i've tried the same thing, i believe its to certain cars in specific. I had 89 300zx twin turbo that didnt , also had an 03 stage II Roush that did when i pushed the handle, i guess soobies just dont.

 

Subaru safety thing.... Both subarus that I have do that, 09 and 12 impreza's.

That kinda sucks, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Most cars I've had done it. I think even my Evo did it, my GTi and '11 Optima did also. Oh well, I'll get used to it.

 

ya just get used to it. i, as well as others im sure, who have aftermarket alarms in their car actually have to wait till they turn off the car. my car auto locks 3 seconds after i start up, and auto unlocks as soon as i shut off the car. anything other than that u gotta "move your finger ONE little inch" LOL. reference anyone? LOL
