Man, today's ride was sweeeeetttttt. Mike and I rode the main climb, then kept going up the fire road to the left and to the peak of that foothill. We could see most of Sacramento, including where the Granite Bay trails are in relation to Salmon Falls. We always thought they were right across but people told us no. Now we know they are in fact right across from each other.
Here's some pics:
Map:

We did 18.4 miles at 8.3 mph.
Elevation profile:

We started out on Sweetwater. It's pretty fun in that direction:

I rode Olmstead with Bert today. It was actually drier than 2 days ago. It's raining now and is suppose to rain tonight and tomorrow. I guess we should see how much it rains and decide afterward.

It's still pouring. I just had to put some things in my wife's car. I got soaked. The forecast says we are going to get around an half inch. There is already 1 1/2 inches in a glass I put outside last night and it's increasing fast.
No riding today for me.

FATRAC is leading ride at Olmstead Saturday morning at 8:30.
Can you say mud city? They plan on doing two laps.
I'm almost tempted to ride it just to see how bad it is. It can't be any worse than that one time several of us rode it. I won't ride if it's raining. I hate riding in rain.

For tomorrow Weather.com say "rain diminishing to a few showers by afternoon." Hmmn. I wonder if we will get an afternoon break? Also Sunday has only a 40% chance of rain. There is a slight chance we can ride sometime.
I hope FATRAC has fun tomorrow morning without me. They had better have their extreme mud tires on. Or at least their extreme mud boots on for pushing.
