if so, i don't think i'll try to make it down.
i've got a paved bike trail right across the street from my house...and i ride til the pavement ends and it turns to dirt for 4.5 miles more.

paved trails suck on mt bikes.

speaking of riding this weekend...i need to run and go grab a new front brake cable so i can!
It's pavement, but it's better than sitting around and getting fat.

Of course, it's not worth the trip down for you unless it's summer time. Then the trail is a sight to see.

Dude it's a sight to see even on a mildly warm day

I actually kind of like riding the paved trail - we get some good speed, there's a couple of decent climbs and we can put down 15 - 20 miles with relative ease.

I'm not fully ready for dirt yet I don't think. I'm still getting used to clipless pedals. I almost ate it big time the other day

the only times i've eaten it with my clipless have been when i would have eaten it enevitely...besides two.

one was at teh bottom of a ride where we took a wrong turn and were about 14 miles further out than we'd planned...my legs were shot and when i came to a stop my legs just wouldn't unclip and i fell flat over like an old lady in a walker.

the second was crossing the bridge on my driveway in the rain...its kinda greesy when it gets wet and i tried to turn & pedal without really thinking...the bike shot out from under me like a racehorse out of the shoot! i got my legs out of the pedals somehow before i hit but i took a nice slider on my hip to the edge of the bridge...that one was funny...especially if someone was looking cus i popped back up and looked around to see if anyone was watching...

My problem still is that I forget I'm wearing them and then try to just take my foot off the pedal and put it down on the ground.

Then my foot just sticks to the bike, but by then I'm commited to stopping so I wrestle real fast to get out. I nearly didn't the other day

heel out.
just think heel out.

quickest way to make it happen.
i find myself doing the "i have to put my foot down!" thing and naturally you go toe first...
but that doesn't release you.
heel out becomes habit in a few rides, but it never feels natural.

i went and got a new front brake cable yesterday so i think i might try to find someone to ride the trails at Conan Ranch with me on saturday.
otherwise i'll ride solo up the trail by my house, unless someone local wants to join.

i still havn't got to try out the HID...maybe i'll ride tomorrow morning.

Red face

i was starting to wonder if the MTB crew would be active again:banana:

i've been sorta mean to my ride.
been riding it in the mud and rain and haven't washed it off in a while.
i rolled it out long enough to snap these pics on my camera phone before it got dark the other night.
my rear derailiur was creaking like mad on my last ride.
it needs some love.

but i'ma clean it up and lube everything before i ride it again.

i also have to figure out how to get my Serial to USB adapter working for the Garmin cus i wanna plot some trails.

29th might work out well. thats a day after my b-day so i hold priority if we already have other plans.
