Anyone have a road preference? Here's another one that looks mighty interesting:

Definitely a morning drive, based on this:

lol, I didn't even look on the pashnit link.

I've driven on Ceader Ravine road twice this week. Its an okay road, lots of blind corners, and it is one of the main throughfares for the outlying areas to come into Placerville. From time to time, there can be quite a bit of traffic on that road, which makes the blind corners worse then they are. Also, a lot of the blind corners end up sharper then they start. Its probably only a 10-15 minute drive at normal speeds.

Oh, and lots of old folks, so a good shot at getting stuck behind someone going 20mph.

Although, I must admit, I find myself making mental pacenotes whenever I drive around that area (which doesn't make much sense in an automatic).

I could probably pull together a decent drive up in that area (esp. with Aarons help), if you all were interested.

I'd go between ~9:30 and 12 if I were you. Lots of people commute to/from school work, and it can pick up again in the lunch time rush.

I can't do any super long drives. I'll have to build up my Sunday staying awake tolerances for the next two weeks. If I think I'll be too tired I can't go, and I'll probably want to be home by noon at the WAAAAY latest. But, I'm a big boy, so if you guys want to do a longer drive, by all means do it and I'll just cut out when I need to or whatever and it won't bother me a bit

If we go, you guys wanna meet up at the 76 there at Auburn/Folsom and..uhh..greenback(?) like normal? We should meet at 7 or so to make sure we beat traffic.

0700?! Don't expect to see me, waking up at 5am to get down there, most likely after getting off work at around midnight, is bad Ju-Ju. Oh well, gas is getting too expensive anyways...

The berryessa drive sounds cool; I grew up on the Wentworth/Icehouse loop, so I'd like to go somewhere else, but I haven't been up there in a while either

I'm a little gunshy now about "publicly" organized drives, after all that's happened on other groups' this year. I'd prefer to organize my future drives via PM so I/we can control the relative skill level of the group. Two reasons; one, I wanna go fast, and two, I don't have to worry about the n00bs wrapping their cars around a big fat tree, or disappearing down a cliff at a place like Icehouse.

Is Aaron's Tire Service open tomorrow afternoon? I can probably swing by around 1pm.

i don't want to sound like a dick, but if you're that concerned about going fast, the safety of other club members, and the safety of other motorists, you should probably be organizing a track day instead of a drive.
