oh dude, i think you took me wrong. i don't have a problem with everyone not showing up every week. small meets are fine by me, i just have a problem with people who don't show up to the meets complaining about who does show up at the meets. okay so you don't want all kinds of idiots running around the lots, neither do i. but i don't think it solves anything to ***** about how you don't want to go to the meets because there's too many other cars there, when the whole reason those other cars get invited is because you don't show up in the first place. again, i know people have good reasons for not being there, that's not the point. the point is, if you're not there, someone else will be, and whatever reason you have for not being there, you have no right to complain unless you do show up. you can talk about history and tradition all you want. fact of the matter is, if you're not there to preserve the history, and to defend the tradition, that argument just flies right out the window.

Sean made a good point the other night when he said to me that he thinks the whole problem kinda feeds itself. the DSM guys seem to be taking over because the subarus don't show up. then the subarus don't show up because the DSM guys are there. the DSM guys show up again because the subarus.....etc. etc. etc. truthfully speaking, the DSM guys are a cool bunch. there's a couple jerk offs that come in and out (and we all know who they are), but they aren't treated any better by the DSM guys than they are by the subarus.

sometimes it is irritating to go to a meet and be one of two people there, but if i only wanted to go expecting big meets every week, i would've stopped showing up to any of the meets a long time ago. i even went to the last elk grove meet knowing that i was going to be one of maybe three people there, and that's a pretty bad drive for me to make if i don't really want to. i actually think that having huge meets every week would get kinda boring after a couple, especially since it's really just a huge sausage fest out there!

me personally, i come from a honda background, ran with the civic guys for almost ten years before i got the legacy. i love cars in general, especially fixed up ones. i do agree that the subaru meets should be about subarus, but if the subarus won't show, then i'm not going to complain when the DSMs, or the Hondas, or the Mazda's show up. i might make fun of them, but i'm not going to stop showing up simply because they're there. i'll still hang out, i'll see what people are running, and i'll just talk about cars with people who are there to talk about cars. when the subarus come back in force, then i'll be happy as a clam. but the simple fact that they don't come out every week won't keep me out of Natomas every saturday night.

Your cool to Aaron i just want to clear some stuff up. I think u got it a little twisted : ) 1: norcalimports and norcal street are two different things. 2: Norcal street is not all imports either, the last meet @ bj's had a mix of imports and domestics and every on was on thier best behavior. 3: The only people i invited were to the first meet i went to which was the big fat one after the mt.hammy meet? Cuz i did not want to come alone. The yellow ITR (who was roomates with one of the members ) and the RED Accord, and they have not been back since, because they felt hated on. 4: I only promote racing on the Track ; )

Like that one legacy i like cars in general and i love the local scene cuz thats were i am. And why i sarted norcalstreet to shocase local cars. But like i said thats a sweet spot and i did not host any meet thier out of respect for the forum which i am apart of. : D

 

Yeah. I'll take that into consideration. I just want to clarify my previous statement. I meant to say was that I wanted to get together informally with other Subie people in Davis. I didn't mean to exclude anyone in the last post. Anyways... if you guys see me around, please wave. Later.

Hi all.

Let's see when we can get the next meet going. Beginning of next month maybe. Like November 1st or something. First thing first, is a Wednesday night good for you all, or should it be on another day?

 

i'd be cool with a switch to tuesday or thursday night if you want to switch. wednesday isn't a big problem though.

and hell yeah, beginning of next month let's do this again. i'll be there for sure!

 

thursdays isnt the best for me since most of my classes are thursday. i have class from like 10-8 on thursdays with 1 hour break meaning all my hw is due on that day. thursday's would be good...and tuesdays too.
