Does this mean all unlimited laps participans are subaru owners? I was under the assumption if we didn't get 55 cars there would be slots.
The goal is actually to try to achieve an all-Suby track day, as the thread title says. Otherwise, we'd just attend an Unlimited Laps event and not concern ourselves about obtaining sponsorship to reduce cost to members. The potential sponsors are registered vendors on i-Club, who are the only vendors who are allowed to solicit business on this board.

Even if we don't get the full 55 cars, we can still get sponsors to help lower the costs for the Suby drivers. That's what the VW guys did for the last event. I think there were something like 30-35 VW's. Their price was like $165 and anyone else was $215. That was because of the VW sponsors.

I got a message back from Subydude and Nate @ S-Squared. They stated they will attend. I still need to talk with them about sponsorship. The more sponsors we get the less the entry fee will be for each subie.

As far as 10/4 goes...we can have that date but we will need to see how many cars we can get by 7/31. If we are close and can get a few more after that date then we can have an all-subie day but it needs to be 55 or very close to that number.

But like mike said

we can still have a semi-exclusive day if we don't get the 55 cars and unlimited laps will save us how many slots we need/can fill.

This is probably the best chance for the near future of putting on the Subaru vendor track shootout.

I'm sorry I never got a chance to see CupertinoSteve's car on the track before he sold it.

...but I did get to see suby_dude and Nate@S-Squared hot lap Buttonwillow last March.

Heh, maybe Steve will get his real car out to TH for this event. It's only been in the works for a year now...

Doh - I forgot all about the track car! It's been so long since I've heard any updates on that monster.

Well there is an open session at the end of the day and it's run like the red group. So if venders want a shoot out of some sort I'm sure it can be arranged. But the main deal is to get out and get some track time in before the end of the year and kinda pull off another all-subie day.

Or they can get their lap times on during lunch so all of us paying customers can watch.
