Pleasant Hill/Concord/Walnut Creek Meet!!!
#106
I drive like a grandma. With 160k on the roo, I have to take care of it.
Actually meet up this far from Vallejo or Fremont (which really isn't that far and I shouldn't complain about it)
I must have missed that part about a group drive, but if that's a thing I might be interested (if we're all grandmas here).

And although I've never been one to hit up meets on the regular, I do recall of ones I've gone to (and still occasion hit up) that at least a few folks were driving 45+ minutes nearly every week.
I actually went to the Fremont meet last nite. Stayed for a li'l over an hour. Even if I spent way more more time on the round trip from V-town, I didn't mind it at all cuz I got to chill w/ a solid group of folks. Most new faces, but some I've known for some time.
That's why I'm stoked that Ravens2016 decided to revive this meet. Get the same Subie vibe going so peeps have more opportunities to connect and share ideas.
Oh, and about the possible drive....
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 7 (TOMORROW) at 7 pm
WHERE: Crossroads Shopping Center
2302 Monument Blvd, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523
Freeway side of the Kohl's parking lot near Pieology and Panda.
I'll let Ravens confirm, but my best guess is within 50 yards of THIS AREA. 'Tis where we typically parked when we did weekly Thursday night meets out here several years back.

You do your home work; yes, that is what I was thinking.
For those with legit GPS's and/or Google Maps savvy...

As for the drive, I'm not sure where a good drive is necessarily. I have my thoughts, but if someone has a better plan, the "best" drive I have is almost two hours long at that point. A little Bear Creek to Grizzly Peak cruise or something like that. West of the Berkeley hills back onto the freeway, that sort of thing. Around here, that's the only one I know, but, I'm sure others have a new road to lay some rubber on.
With that - I'll see those who show up tonight!

That's if everyone wants to go on twisty road or just cruise.

Cruise is yes either way it seems. As to which, I'm fine with whichever. There is a ScubieSister coming at 9:30ish who is anxious to come and say hello and join, so I will wait until about 10 before heading out. Whichever one people decide is fine by me. I have nothing pre-planned necessarily; just a full tank and enough caffeine to keep me awake lol

Hey thanks coming out all those who were able to make it! A great lil meet n drive! I had forgotten how technical Grizzly Peak is, and it is clear that I cannot drive. If it wasn't for my WRX having that VDC I'd be in a ditch right now talking to my insurance agent. But, I'm here, and happy to have met some new faces!
So how often would people be willing to meet? Once a week? Every two weeks? Once a month? maybe we can get a consensus going and see if we can capture a few more wild Subarus into the fold.

I'd say I can make it out once a month. Pretty busy with school and work. Finished finals at 5pm today which is why I could make it out.
Good to see there is a sorta Bay Area Subaru scene! I thought everyone had died. Great to see you guys and gal.
Looking forward to what you guys have in store for your subarus! I can't do jack to mine...

It's up to you folks if you want to make this a regular thing, I can't be held accountable for anything because I'll be moving in November.
Good show tonight, it was nice meeting everybody.

Damn! And you just picked up your scoob. Well best of luck with finding a subaru group wherever you're moving! I almost thought all hope was lost in the east bay. :P

Barring what sounds like a mild scare, I'm glad to hear the cruise went well.
I wish I coulda at least made an appearance but just wasn't in the cards. I should be available next Fri.
I dunno how regularly I'd be able to come thru but I'd certainly make the effort esp since I know it's tough to establish or revive a meet. And I wanna help stoke the Subie love.
