The tube is inside the oil pan. To replace it, the oil pan has to come off etc, which can be a pain when laying on your back without taking the motor out. Book time on the repair is 2 hours (total) but that's assuming you have all the tools etc. You also have to use Fuji bond (recommended, same thing Subaru uses to glue the engine case halves together) to glue the oil pan back in place, which can get messy. Once you're in there, you unbolt the old, and bolt in the new. I struggled with mine, and it took me maybe 3 hours.

Here's the link to the "history" on the pickup tube issues:
Oil Pickup Story - Subaru Oil Pickup Failure

Subaru also put out a technical service bulletin regarding the pickup tubes for 06-07. Search the forums, it's pretty common.

Yes, but purchasing another OEM will cause the same issues again over time... IMO, better to do it once, and never have to do it again. The Killer B is beefy. Check out the pics on their website. No way that thing will crack and cause potential catastrophic failure...

Just sayin, cost me $300 to replace my turbo alone (good buddy deal...), and I was lucky that I caught it fast enough to avoid total engine failure.

I'm assuming the pickup tube problem is just for STi's?

the meet location is a large parking lot infront of the beach where we will be allowd to bbq, or picnic, or whatever the hell you guys want to do! this will hopefully be a fun drive and a great hang out day. if all goes well, we will host more events in the future. lets get this meet going! i planned it a month ahead so that should give everyone enough time in advance to request the day off! i will also be bringing a few friends (none subaru owners) to come hang out and we will probably bring our cameras so hopefully we can get some nice shots! feel free to ask any questions. thanks guys! hope to see you all there!

P.S. this will be a pot luck kind of bbq hang out thing so bring whatever you want to contribute. please dont be super cheap... thanks again!

Found a set I like on rallysportdirect.com
SSR Type F 18x9.0 5x114.3 +50mm Touring Gold

I was told I will not need to run a spacer on the fronts, hopefully that will take care of the shaking I have a 70mph. It's going to be a long 2 weeks for them to come in lol
