^^^^Hahaha...unless you live in SF, where Subaru owners are too scared/snobby to acknowledge other fellow enthusiasts, because they don't have the ***** to make eye contact with another Subie driver, most likely because they're too much of a ***** to stand ground and man up if a confrontation develops...

Don't be in denial man. I'm a SF native, born and raised, and I take much pride in that...but I'm just telling it like it is. How many well taken care of Subies do you see in the city, and how many of the people behind the wheel acknowledge you? :-)
Well actually, that is also the result of Subaru's new image and etiquette over the years. It is indeed very far away from the early years and the raw 22B STi that Colin Mc Rae used to drive in the mud! I remember when I was a kid, subarus and evos were only driven by rally addicts. Nowadays, it looks like the audience shifted to such a point that I wonder if some of the drivers know they have a turbo in it ( I keep on throwing deuces to grannies in WRXs wagons... Why can't they drive Priuses like everybody in this city. It is confusing lol).Nowadays, when you drive a Subie, everyone thinks that it is a family car because that is what image Subaru wants to convey. I drive the hatchback STi but the people whom I work with still think that my car is a soccer mom wagon. So basically now an STi became slowly a "ghost" sports car because no ones recognizes it on the street and a lot of people forget that it is still a rally beast able to take off from 0-60 in less than 5 s.

That happened to me a few weeks before I deployed, a buddy from work and I were at the entrance to 880. He was in his modified Cummins truck and I was in the WRX next to him. When my light changed we both punched it to race to the merge of the two lanes. He got the jump obviously (auto transmission and TONS of torque) but as soon as I hit boost I left him in my proverbial dust. Its funny to hear HIM tell the story cause when he punched it he blew this HUGE cloud of black thick smoke which totally hid my WRB wagon. Then he says "all of a sudden I see this blue streak whiz by and I hear whaaaaaa PSSST whaaaaaaa, and hes gone"
Great input, Jose! We will postpone the drive until the 14th of July due to other members having plans for the 4th of July weekend. I like the drive details for Lower Lake, so I think we should do that drive for the July monthly drive (if no one disagrees, that is).
Ben, here is some reading for you, as well as anyone else interested in twin scroll or equal-length headers as Ben and I are (BTW, I had the Invidia/Tomei setup first!).

Too bad it's so effin' expensive...
So it sounds like were doing the drive sunday the 14th, but I already got sunday the 7th off.
So I guess ill be installing/doing a thousand things on my wagon next sunday, if anyone wants to help ill buy beer!
Putting on new bumpers
Downpipe, upipe
Trailer hitch
120k service, changing every fluid, breaks, filters, gaskets ect
Spark plugs
Starter
Fuel pump
And a bunch of other fun things I can't think of off the top of my head.
Highly doubt ill be able to do it in 1 day, but it shall be fun

That's a pretty rash generalization, I've never had any issues with Subaru owners if the city. No more than anywhere else anyway. There are snobby/angry people everywhere I go. Then again, I don't need acknowledgement to feel good about my car...I could give two ****s. My car is always pretty clean but its difficult to keep that way. If you lived in the city you would know that in order to keep your car clean all the time you would either need to clean it everyday or have a garage. What I do care about is the character and reputation of the club drivers I roll with. I just think throwing out comments like that is a good way to ensure that the North Bay Suby Club gets a bad reputation, doesn't grow and offends people. And all the hard work you're putting into it will be for naught. It's not a good way to encourage new members. Just my two cents...
