Would headers make a difference?

No im not thinking about turbo at all now, as this is my first car and im just waiting a few years until i can hopefully get my wrx or even better an sti. But will the HEADER make a noticeable difference? How much power/torque gain should i expect, and with respect to the sound, will it be a different tone? Or louder? Or both? Because i just installed a short ram and the exhaust got considerably louder and had a more rumblier tone to it, but i dont wont to go any louder than what it currently is.
Thanks

I only noticed a small difference in performance after I installed my header. Part of that could be because mine's an auto and I live a mile above sea level
The exhaust note didn't exactly become louder, just the tone changed slightly, had a fuller sound. Hp and Torque numbers will vary from header to header. The Borla one is supposed to increase each by 10-15, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I hope this helps.

It does't matter if at some future date you go turbo or not, the Borla header can be modified later to accomodate turbo. IMO the header is the most important part of the exhaust and will give you both more HP and torque. Borla header at under three hundred dollars shipped is a no brainer.
