Heatsheild - will it make a difference?
Will something like the Gruppe-s Heatshield make much of a difference with the intercooler and turbo being so close together?

Any heat shield will do.
If you're running a turbo without a heat shield (assuming you're running a top mount) you're top mount will get heat soaked faster because as well all know hot air rises. A heat soaked intercooler will decrease performance. The car may feel a bit sluggish during take off. If you're running an aftermarket dp the stock one will not fit. You could cut your stock heat shield to make it fit or get an aftermarket one. I'd recommend getting a heat shield especially in the hot weather.

I have a cusco one, I am not too happy with the coverage of it. Gruppe-s' design seems like it covers more than the cusco one.
The next heatshield system I am going to try, I am going to try SpeedMonkey's chiminey design.
Cheers,
Austin

doughboy, does this fit the WRX scoop/gasket or the STI scoop/gasket? Or both?

<<<< Fortunately for me I don't live in the Republic of Kalifornia so the cops could care less about aftermarket parts.

At this point I am thinking of getting the speedmonkee chimney design. Does anyone have it and what do they think?
