Vagcom or tactrix 1.3 cable, laptop, windows OS, a wide open road to do pulls, a good friend who doesn't care about going fast.

Maps go to legacygt.com and talk to infamoustuning have Shamar send you maps its about $175

also check Torquedperformance.com Eric makes GREAT maps with lots of proven power and great customer service. Once you get the maps, you do some logs, and then send it to him. He'll tweak it for free and make sure everything's safe for you and make any adjustments needed. Lots of guys on the 3G boards are running TP tunes with awesome results, including myself. And I think his maps are still under $100

There's a pair of green connectors on the passenger side under the carpet connect those together your Check engine should blink? I can't remember but the biggest thing you'll notice is that your radiator fan will keep going on and off. If you can't find it after peeling the carpet back, peel it further till the ECU is revealed take off the bolts holding the plate around it and the clips should be there. Make sure there isn't anything electrical running over it.

^^^ What Heedz said. Yea...a Tactrix 2.0 cable is the best way to open source. Do some logging get a tuner to do some revisions & ur good to go. Infamous does great tunes & his e-tuning is a deal. I started with an e-tune but now live in socal so I'm fortunate to have him sit in my car & "talk to it".

Damn Hide, u got over 5k posts on here.
