Exclamation Tune or not to Tune?

so i just picked up a 02 wrx and the guy installed a up and catted down pipe along with exhaust and a code was thrown. Does this mean i need to re tune the car?

Well for starters, get the CEL pulled and figure out why it came on. Although the exhaust could be the cause it is also possible that something else happened like a misfire or something.

Then tune the car in accordance to the parts.

Wow is this a bold statement. I think over 80 percent of us on I-club is modified. So that means we are all going to have problems for the rest of our lives?

I had the same dilemma. I went for Open source with EQ, there really nice over there, check out the tactrix open port cable, since ur 02 u will need the reflash connector. this allows u to switch back and forth between road map. and pro tune map using ur computer at home. much cheaper than Access port, and u get a protune which will be alot better than an off the shelf tune. If u want, U can use my Open port cables, and try get sum1 on the forumns to give u a tune over email, use the ecu flash software tactrix provides, and its really simple cheap and more effective than the cobb.
