need advise (want to make my Legacy more fun)

I own a 2003 legacy not a gt. I like the car but would like to make it a better car in both handling and off the line. I don't want to do anything radical and I'm not looking for top end hp. Just wanna make my ride to and from work more fun. I'm new to this site but heard great things about it. This is my 4th subaru so I'm sold.
Thanks for any help

Personally I'd forget any power mods. The only power mod I would really consider is a WRX engine swap...but assuming you have low miles on your car(and a good engine), I doubt this would be economical.

I, instead, have gone the route of suspension mods. Depending on your budget, there is plenty that you can do. I'd start with a larger rear swaybar with is the best handling to cost mod for our cars(~150 bucks). Then a set of wider rims and tires(~1000 for both). Then I'd move to struts/springs or coilovers to lower the center of gravity a bit.

Do the above suspension/handling mods and you'll be very happy

I would go for a sports exhaust. Although this would see a small increase in power, the main reason for fitting it would be to get that sweet boxer sound. Having a car that emits such a sweet sound really adds to the driving experience. How you go about it is really up to your own tastes but i would go for a cat back exhaust with the quietest straight through muffler (or loud enough to release the boxer purr but not but not loud enough to be annoying or deffective). That shouldn't cost too much.
Suspension and track along with wheels and tyres is also the go. Follow Fibuz's advice on that stuff. These things will cost more but will not only mean better handling but will also make the car look better (another driving experience enhancement). I have the works on my suspension (coilovers, swaybars, camber adjustment, strut bar) it makes my heavy wagon feel like it's on rails through corners.
Lastly, clean any unnecessary dead weight out of your car. Every kilo (or lack there of) helps performance and it's free!
Cheers
Matt.
