i agree with you. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks that way. Some people do see a post count and think that person must know what he/she is talking about. That leads to another interesting point....reputable posters. Most people that've been here know who gives good info. However, Joe Blow n00b could walk in and ask a question in the tech forum and will be fed a handful of useless **** because everyone will postwhore the tech forums. So how does he know which info is good and which is bad? he won't!

You either have all or none! you can't pick and choose what you want in a cardhouse or else it will colapse. Instead you either A)disable everything and make everyone equal with no post counts, special titles, avatars etc. Or B)enable avatars for ACTIVE MEMBERS that support i-club based on member time, meetings/events, business and sticking a 'i-club' decal on their car(s), enabling post counts for those that think it makes them more reputable, and leave everything else alone. Don't give anyone special treatment... change is bad for this type of thing. And one more thing: moderators are there to supervise, not throw in there .02 IMO. that's why they 'moderate' they aren't called 'opinionators'

This is just really petty IMHO. as far as im concerned this forum has way too much politics and isn't any better than nasioc.

75% of complaints about this would be eliminated if the avatar post limit was done away with.

As a suggestion, I was thinking of a nice comprimise. Perhaps you've already thought of it and deemed it unfeasable. But I'll tell you anyways, just in case.

Perhaps we should have two statuses; one for technical involvment and one for community involvment. If someone (like me for example) has 22 technical posts and 70+ BAIC posts, I could be a "tech lurker" and a "community member". Or if you only wanted to display one status, you could even just choose the higher status of the two. So, instead of a tech lurker (cause I don't reply much in the tech forums) I could be a community member.

This way it shows both sides of i-club. The tech side, and the community side. Those who post more in the technical forum get recognized for answering lots of technical questions, and those who are in it for the community also get recognized for their contribuition.

Just a thought.

Only reason I ever venture over to nasioc is for Tech info, whatever you can do to get people involved in the tech forums and spreading around good info is for the betterment of the club. The only problem is the post ****** just whoring it up over in the tech forums.

Having some kind of reward for posting in the tech forums is good, once someone reaches whatever amount of posts, they should get some reward, avatar, title, whatever, but you or other mods should look over the users posts at that point to see if they were actually an assest or just whored it up in order to get said reward.

i enjoy change

i have learned a lot of "techie" stuff since i joined this club...i think the most valuable thing in this forum is not just the tech specs....but corny as it may sound... it is the FELLOWSHIP of fellow imprezers...sure getting tips on making my car better is good... but its the fact of dealing with real people who actually believe in what they post...having a hawaii forum makes it all the sweeter because we can actually interact....seriously who cares about a post count but putting titles(mine is gone...yahoo!) on members names without prior warning or reason can be discouraging.(i know...sob sob) but whats nice is that this club is growing... every single customer that even thinks of buying a wrx... i tell 'bout i-club.(whats up p. costelo!! in kalihi!)

I think its more that it was used as an excuse to stir up crap. I.e. one particular member, when I was recently in a "heated discussion" (using the term lightly) on BAIC, AIM'd me and basically said, "Don't take it seriously, I just post ish to people sometimes cuz I want my avatar".

Post count should definatly stay, and I am not saying thing just b/c I have a hihg overall post count.

It is very important when it comes to buying parts and who you want to deal with, when buying parts.

a LOT of people in BAIC have under 50 posts in the tech forums, but have well over 500 total posts. Post count is an important factor when buying used parts IN MY OPINION. Sure we have the trader rating and I wish more people would start using it, but that is not the case, people are not using it for EVERY transaction unfortunatly.

Zoeb, I just noticed that you and your buddies are totally abusing the Trader's Rating feature.

I had a similar suggestion when i started a topic in the general forums (siscocqk's suggestion is way better than mine ) But then a "non-moderator" shoots it down when i told him that one of the"MODERATORS" replies with the exactly (word for word like it was copied and pasted)the same answer as the "non- moderator".It is like some people here could manipulate "MODERATORS".So if they like or they don't like something in the forums they cry and whine to their closest moderator then he takes action right away (with
bias of course)

If you don't mind me calling you alex(Haven't met you personally so it's kind of awkward calling you by your name) I have a suggestion just for you and only you(no moderators) I think you need mods that are fair and unbiased to all because i think you got quite a few that are easily manipulated by some other members here..I posted about the I-club stickers and avatars as a suggestion(i was thinking that the stickers on cars is a good way for people to know about your site(especially in my car cuz it's debaged and that is the only sticking out and the AWD)me personally I don't like putting stickers on my car Heck i even took out my badge..Not being a baby but when one of your moderators said no to my suggestion without even using his own words made me think of taking the sticker off cuz people would check the site thinking it is a good site to hang around(for me it's been good before but not the past few days)Then they see that some "MODS" close these, delete that because some people abuse the "report this post to a moderator" button..But after i read your post regarding the "updating"or"upgrading of the site I'm gonna keep the sticker on till I see the improvements and hopefully the sticker stays on after that.... just my .02 and to release all these frustration..Hope it comes out for the better...again GOOD LUCK on the improvements on the site..
