WRX airbag/seat removal questions and verification...

I'm going to take out my front seats this week to install a set of sparco torinos and I wanted to verify the proper procedure ...

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Wait 1 minute for charge to drain (press on brake pedal for another 30 secs).
3. Disconnect seat airbag harness.
4. Insert 3.3 ohm resistor into seat airbag harness.
5. Reconnect battery.

And I have 3 questions regarding the resistor ...

1. When I start the car, the airbag light should come on for a few seconds and then go off (just like normal operation), correct?

2. If I have the resistor installed incorrectly and the airbag light stays on (because the system detects a fault), if I disconnect the battery and install the resistor correctly will the light go away? Or will I need it to cleared by a dealership?

3. If the resistor comes loose while driving and makes the airbag light come on/off, will this trigger any of the other airbags in the system to deploy?

Thanks,

Mike

The side airbag deploying doesn't necessarily cause the fronts to and visa-versa.

I would double-check the resistor rating, I don't think it's 3.3 ohm, maybe 3.3kohm. I don't really know for sure but it doesn't sound right.
