Wolf in sheeps clothing (can an '06 STI be made to look like a 'sleeper'?)

Red face Wolf in sheeps clothing...........

Just for the sake of debate, if some sick, crazy bugger were to take a brand new '06 STI and try to make it look like a run of the mill Impreza would the Impreza parts fit? I'm hypathetically(?) talking about the trunklid for one thing.

yes...

A 2.5rs scoopless hood (get a flat black front mount intercooler?), and spoilerless trunk will fit.

Paint the brembos flat black, etc...

The other thing you'd need to do on the 06 is lose the roof spoiler and have the holes taken care of.

Cool decals...............

What about the STI emblems? Are they painted on or are they decals? If they are decals then I think I'll just take the emblems off the replace the trunk lid. At a glance, now one except a Subi expert or owner would pay any attention to it as anything more than an Imprezza STI wannabe. Anybody can change the hood scoop for the bigger STI model, I imagine.

sport compact car magazine did a whole project on this about a year ago or so. they took a stock brand new sti and made a sleeper out of it. front mount intercooler no wing no badges new hood, wheels and painted the whole car flat black. it was pretty sweet.

Get a wagon, do a tranny swap and all sorts of performance stuff and add a lift kit. People will think its a Tribeca, I promise.

Thumbs up wagon idea

No thanks, I've done my share of engine swaps, just finished my last. I just want to buy it and drive it now with no hassles.
