which wax is best
i went to wal mart and got this wax called black magic. I've never heard of it before. if anyone has used it let me know if it is good. if not list the name of wax i should get next time

carnuba doesn't last as long as most waxes, but i love the way black cars look with it. try something like PS21 carnuba over a sealant glaze.

I have used a lot of different kinds in the past. I just tried the new nano wax from meguires and it looked and felt pretty good. My car looks like new.
I used to have a side company where we did detailing on high end cars. I found that expensive high end waxes are just that, high end and expensive. I used the middle of the road stuff and always got a great shine. A simple 3 part waxing which there is only 1 wax involved

To start off, clay-barring is for really hard core problems, previous abrasive waxes imbedded in the paint, tree sap that has been baked in, but for most applications is overkill, that it takes a lot of time and a whole ****load of effort.
I used to use a product from Meguiars, Medallion series Paint Cleaner, and with a microfiber applicator, it pulls all the road debris easily from your paint.
After cleaning the paint I used a regular paint wax, it was from a company called P&S Products and it was Par-K wax, most thick application waxes will do. Meguiars and Mothers sell the like. One or two coats would usually do the job for protection purposes. If you are running a catless exhaust put extra around the exhaust exit and it will be easier to remove carbon trailing.
And the third step can be handled two ways, a sealant, such as Klasse Sealant, which does a great job and is an easy and quick detail that gets shine. Or any paint gloss will do, such as Mothers Showtime Gloss (I like the smell haha). And that will always give you a boost in color and shine.
