sticker removal
sticker removal
well i decided to de-badge my STi, i found a thread about how to remove the metal stick on things (S U B A R U, WRX, etc)....but what about the stickers? i havent tried anything yet because of the notoriously thin subaru paint. so how about it, who's got a good home remedy for STi sticker removal?
What sticker, the one on the front doors near the sills? Since those are just paper, just peel it off and use the same stuff you'll use to get rid of the adhesive for the badges on that area.
The other stickers like the ones on the fogs are actually vinyl if memory serves me right (there's a layer of clearbra over mine and i can't get to them) and those should come off just by peeling, just get one corner up and pull gently and slowly and you should be able to get the whole thing off.
If you're talking about dealer names on your trunk......sometimes they are stickers and sometimes they are actually painted on.

i heard WD-40 works...Mine was debaged when the gody shop guy did some work on my trunk. I have never done it myself so I cna't really garauntee...and nailpolish remover/acetone will take off crap from stickers but waax the area after using a solvent or anything like that because it will take off wax and such...
yeah, particularly the ones on the brake vent intake (fog light) area, im debating the ones on the doors, but i think i want the only STi badge to be the one in the grille. the gold rims and huge spoiler say "STi" loud enough for me.

Use a hairdryer or heatgun to loosen up the adhesive first, then peel. WD40 should take care of the leftover adhesive (if there is any)
hair dryer and peanut butter
no joke! the natural oils in peanut butter will loosen up the adhesive so just heat it up and use your finger nail and peanut butter. wipe down with a damp cloth and repeat if necessary. then make sure you apply a bit of wax to the area.
