Which shifter trim plate..?
The only problem with the ASP trim is that it is wider than the sti trim. When it is installed there is very little console visible to the left and the right of the trim. IMHO it changed the whole look of the sti trim, and does not look as good because of it. That is why I went with the sti trim.
Personally I think it looks great. I've seen the real STi one installed (not one of the knock-offs) as well and I like the brushed aluminum look of the ASP plate better myself (the STi one has a flat aluminum-colored finish)...just a preference thing. I don't think it leaves too little plastic to be seen, there's enough in there already...I also got the dead pedal plate with the rubber ***** to match the WRX pedals from ASP and that is a nice addition as well (installs in 15 seconds...), very high-quality piece as well...
I have another pic of the shift trim in my gallery (was my desktop for a while, I'm a geek I admit it! well, more like a geeky-dweeb
):

(did someone say gallery ho?!

BTW Nigel, like the red backlighting...I still have to get to doing that!

I actually wasn't keen on the ASP dead pedal, I went for the one from Kastle's Korner instead.
Been too busy running around to put it in yet - not that it takes long, just making excuses
- but when I do (probably this weekend) I'll get a pic and post it. Looks as good in real life as it does in the pic, to me at least.
Bonkers.

The two-piece design is the best and the install is so much easier and the results are way better than any other piece.
I was looking into getting a shift trim but haven't justified the money yet. However if and when I order one it will be from droppedclutch.
Check out the site, especially the install instructions.
