Get durable HID bulbs if you're gonna switch. Deny all Asian made bulbs because they are literally junk (for now). Stick with Osram/Phillips. Ultinon 6k is the best lasting and clearest one on the market so far. You won't see those purple HID molecules and wonder from a block away (very inefficient), that is trash... sorry HIPER, you SUCK. I dont give a rats tail even if you made 12000* kelvin marine, I use it to see the road, not to blind old people (theyre fking blind enough).

Here is an alternative - buy the heavy duty harness and use bigger bulbs. That will definitely give you significant light output improvement over stock with fraction of the cost of the HID. You get to keep your hi-beam.
Buy the harness that comes with relays, fuse, etc. This alone will give you light output improvement. The harness will allow you to run 80/100 bulbs. Amazing light output for around $60.
