I am assuming that you have an L model because you are looking for a 9007 bulb. I would recommend going with the PIAA Xtreme whites which are rated at 4150K. These are really bright and I have them on my RS right now. I also have the same bulbs as my foglights. I do not recommend going any higher because the Super Plasmas are more purplish than white when they are on the ground.

Okay, you have an older model Legacy. Gotcha I didn't know what the older models used. Because the L models use the 9007 also. The GT and newer Outback models use the H1(low beam) and 9005(high beam) setup.

I just have a PIA of a time trying to find HID H1's that are not real HIDs but something along the lines like PIAA Xtreme whites.

Hi, we have a 2001 Legacy GT and I am in the process of researching for brighter driving lights for the car. Ever since we bought the car, the headlights/foglights look really dim. After I found out that many Legacy owners complain about them, I understand that it wasn't only my eyes.

Some people have recommended the Sylvania Silverstar Halogens. Are they any good? I heard some have blown within a 6-month range.

How long does the PIAA Xtreme Whites last? I'm looking to have brighter/better driving lights. They don't necessarily have to be "cool rice looking" like many teen-agers want them to look.

Thanks in advance.

My friend and I have had PIAAs in our WRXs since they first came out in 2001. Right now neither of us has blown out a PIAA bulb. I have had to gone back to stock Sylvanias because I have blown out a Hella Optilux HID bulb. That bulb only lasted about 8 months. I am running PIAAs in my RS for about 5 months now and so far no problems.

Even though a lot will say to use the Sylvanias I was not impressed with them when I saw them in my friends WRX. They still do not seem as bright as the PIAAs.
