MY93 Impreza L
So I've been looking for headlights for my car but I need to know whats going to fit them so I can quite asking. SO could someone out there tell me what years will fit my car and what won't and WHY they won't, because, as far as I can tell, there's no difference in the body style of the impeza until they wen't the the WRX body. Oh, I'm talking any style of headlight as well I.E. Stock, morettes etc....
if you are only changing the headlights, you have no choice.
Stick with your current headlights.
If you are changing hood and grill to 97+ as well,
you can choose from
97+ headlights (edgier around the grill than 93) same as 22B or rally car!
99+ headlights (multi reflector "jewel" type)
Morette
and some other aftermarkets
these are different in shape than 93 if you look carefully and so are the hood and the grill. You can keep you current bumper. Everything will bolt on without modification

I have a 95 and I believe my lights are the same as yours. The later model lights-97+, have the same mounts, but they need the grill and hood to fit properly. They would look funny, and possibly inrefere with the hood on your car now. The hood and grill from a 97+ would fit your car as well. Without these parts there will be gaps between the grill and lights as well as hood and lights.

huh, I think the body shop that gave me these wacked headlights also gave me the wrong hood because it doesn't fit flush with the grill it fits over it about an inch...I mean the hood closes fit and doesn't interfere with anything but it just fits over it like an overbite. Could that mean I have a late model hood?

If you look at the car on my web site you can see the differences, since I changed from the up-to-96 type to the later style lights/grille/hood. Should answer the question of what it is you have on yours.

I think I'm just going to have to post pictures of what I'm talking about because I just don't see the difference but you can definatly see a difference on my car, like i said, the grill and the hood don't match up on my car, the grill is about 1/2 inch or so behind the hood...so I think I may have gotten a late model hood from that body shop, so if thats true I could run later style headlights right?
You can have mismatch if you match it in a certain way.
93 grill & 93 hood with 97 headlight should work with a big gap, for example.
If you have mis match hood/headlight/grill combo, you should have the gap vertically, not lengthwise. and there should not be any gap around the corner lights and fenders, because corner lights and fenders are the same.
I need to see your car's pic to find out more.
If you have been frontal in accident, i think the frame is bent and the headlights&bumper is pushed in, causing the hood to come out visually.

the car was in a minor frontal accident but I know the frame isn't bent since the damage was up on the hood and barely touched the bumper and I've been racing and into cars long enough to judge that accurately. I'll see about getting pictures up this week. Thanks for all your help.
