Macintosh Stereo

The Japanese Macintosh stereo sounds awesome. I just returned from a trip to New Zealand and got to take a look around the inside of the new Legacy Wagon GT. The interior is very nice, fit and finish equal to the Germans, however the switch gear still has a cheap feel (the bun warmer switches).

Oh yes the point of this post, Could the Japanese spec radio be reprogramed to pick up american radio stations. The Macintosh unit would fit perfectly, have CD and Mini disk formats.

wow, i haven't seen the legacy gt wagons yet. in my experience with *** spec stereos- i really don't think it can be done. my friend had a cd/md player in his wrx and he said it was too expensive to make it accept us stations.

You could see if an older Outback with V6 owner is selling their McIntosh head unit.
