Hey nerds,
Do any of you have access to Mac OSX (warez) 10.0? I'm trying to help a friend upgrade from his OS 9.0 version and can't seem to find a copy.
I tried finding the file on apple.com, but alas they only have an supplements to the core OS. I'm not too savvy when it comes to Macintosh, so if anyone can offer me some help, I'd appreciate it very much!

Mods, I posted this here since there are more users browsing this chapter than the Random Thoughts (off topic), so please be kind enough to hold out until tomorrow before moving this over.

Why do you want to upgrade to 10.0, by the way? That is a pretty early release (being a x0.0 after all)...
Also, why does your friend want to upgrade just his OS? OS X is a lot more resource-intensive and personally I just stick with OS 9 on older machines, unless there's a compelling reason to change...

Don't get 10.0. Its more or less a public beta of OS X.
10.3 is killer, 10.4 is around the corner. I would recomend you to buy a legit copy, but if you are planning on 'procuring' an earlier version, at least get 10.1 if not 10.2.

As an Apple employee I am amused by this thread.
10.3 is the latest, and no you can't download it from Apple.
There is no 'warez' or 'cracked' version of the OS, every copy is serial number free and can be installed any number of times on any Mac capable of running it. There are also no 'upgrade' versions.
If you want a legit copy it $129 in the stores or if your near Cupertino I can get you one at 50% off.

Wow, you guys are freakin' awesome! My friend was doubtful that anyone from a "car club" could help, but you n3rds are technosexual. Well, I must level with you - the reason he wants to upgrade his little i-book from OS 9 to OS-X 10.2.6 is so he can play this:

He already shelled out $150 for this game and 512mb of additional memory, and now wants to upgrade the operating system in order for it to become compatible, but as some of you mentioned above, I think that's kind of stretching the ability of this old i-book.
I guess before paying another $100+ for it, we'll try the sites you mentioned above.
Tide: Thanks for the 50% discount offer on the software. Cupertino is pretty far, but I'm sure he'll keep it in mind.
Thanks again everyone!

Well, I tried contact Killaho (mac expert) regarding this, but no answer.
I'm starting to think that the OSX 10.3 panther is going to be too much for this old i-book (circa 2001-2002)

I may suggest to my friend that he should just get a playstation 2 and forget upgrading the mac, but he's so into strategy games like the one mentioned above (Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, etc.) which is why I doubt he'll go for that.
Any suggestions?
