I did this with my 03 rex... VERY VERY easy.. I removed the lower and upper part of the steering colum and gave a twist on the clear plastic iluminated ring, removed the bulb and popped in an LED... no more than probably 15 mins...

With this I can get as far as removing the bottom piece and lifting the upper piece of the steering colum... but when I go to twist out the clear illuminated ignition ring it does NOT come out...

Anyone with an 05 sti that wants their key ring red or that already did this please give me some insight! :-)

If I had baby fingers I could probably reach over the top to remove the bulb but I don't and it seems like the darn ring should just pop off like it did on my wrx...

Any help would be great.
