Hey Guys,
I have a 02 wrx that has quite a bit of aftermarket gear...
My car was running perfect then ( with the exception of the ignition thing ) its not .
but my turbo gauge just stopped working ...???
it used to go from negative boost to 16 lbs on the gauge but now it stays a like 1 lb all the time ..
my idle seems to be quite a bit lower now as well. ???
I guess it idles about 600 rmp's right now just above stalling. ???
I get a popping sound when I back up ... seems to be at the driver's rear wheel ???
When I turn the ignition off sometimes the car stays running, then it may or may not shut off for a minute or two... ???
Can you guys help me out ... what do you think is causing any of these problems?
PM or email or post your advice please ...
bpumped@yahoo.com
Thanks ..... Mark

you might want to check to see if there is any leaks in the vacuum line or if it's connected at all... this is also a problem for your Bypass Valve if there is a leak from your boost gauge vacuum line. your BV will not open as far if there is a leak. If this is true your BV may or may not relieve back pressure from the turbo and could cause damage as well.
This may or may not be your problem... thats just what I experienced.

If you have the remote start on your subaru, the car will stay running after you remove the key -if you have set the e-brake & left the car in neutral. The factory remote start also has a turbo timer function that can be set in a simmilar way. Just press the brake pedal or leave your car in gear when you shut it off & you should be fine.
As for your boost gauge??? Leak?? Broken gauge??

You say your car has aftermarket stuff on it.
The car running after you shut it off would be a turbo timer. Look for it.
The turbo gauge is not reading because the vacuum hose leading to it is either kinked, or it has been disconnected altogether. Follow the vacuum line from the gauge until you find the problem.
It seems that you should find the original owner of the car and have him give you a once over of everything that has been modified, so you know.
