I'm curious, I've found a steering wheel that I really like (Momo Club4) but what, if any, is the legal issue with replacing your factory wheel which contains an airbag? Thanks in advance for your help guys.

The only thing I can think of would be if somebody else drives your car and gets hurt/killed. You could have a problem if you didn't tell them about it. You should have witnesses to the fact that they knew before hand that there was no airbag in the steering wheel.
I am going to install a bagless NARDI STi wheel as soon as I get it...should be anytime now.

So as far as you guys know there is no law against tampering with your stock airbag system? That seems odd to me, as they have laws governing every other damn thing (ie. side marker lights...) But I certainly hope you guys are right. Thanks for the information. Keep posting up if you guys find anything else out or if you have something to add. Thanks again guys.

It's Illegal to remove any safety devices from your car, from what I have read. Took a little while searching online to confirm this, and this link from nhtsa was the best I could come up with.
