You could also take apart one of your remotes, drill a hole in the piece in your center console, and find a small button to go in the hole. Shouldnt be too hard to rig it up so that it hits the button on the opener.

Im no electical expert but I would think you could just buy a momentary switch button then take apart the control and find out how the stock button is wired. Then wire your button in its place and put the board and stuff under the center console. Dunno how much room a WRX has under the console but I'm guessing its more than enough for a small garagedoor opener.

My door opener used a 12v photo style battery, I took it apart, soldered leads to the battery terminals and soldered a small push button switch from Radio Shack. I connected the power leads to the light circuit in the overhead map lights. Tucked the opener wrapped in foam inside the headliner area, and drilled a hole for the button to stick out in between the lights. Now it's just a little black button that nobody even notices.

Max, try this garage door transmitter mod from ScoobyMods.com. I don't know if you'll be able to view the pics unless you're a registered member, though.

They call this homelink on newer cars... many come with it built into the console or visors.

Max, have you done it yet? I just did it today. It was pretty darn easy. I spend about $20 on the whole setup.

25ft 18 gauge power/ground wires (most expensive item)
2 inline fuse holders
4 5x20 fuses
2 momentary switches
box of wire connectors (about 10-20 in a box)
