Waterspots

I have some water spots/oxidation that I am having trouble getting rid of off my 02 MBP WRX. I have been told of water spot remover, but I called several local auto part stores and they didn't carry it. I used Klasse polish to try and reduce the spots, but they are still visible. Anyone know what to use?

Where abouts do I find a clay bar? What exactly is it? I love the Klasse, it gives the car a great shine. Try buying a small container of it and see how you like it. Its the best polish I know of.

If you need to get some water spots off wash the car, make sure it's cool and use some distilled white vinegar and a sponge. Let it sit for like 5-10 min. and wash it again. POW!!!!!!! No more water spots. You WILL have to wax again as the vinegar strips most of it away. That ok though as you rinse much of your hazyness will go down the drain as well.

I usually use an orbital sander, not as rough on the finish as a belt sander.

Yes, I'm kidding; however, I have NO doubt that the sander would remove water spots in the paint.

Klasse is THE ****. I detailed cars for five years and my father owned a detailing business for over 17 years (and held a full time contract with European Motors MB Dealership in Oakland for 15 years) and that stuff is all we used. It is AMAZING on black cars. It's a little difficult to apply to dark colors as it is very high in carnuba, and leaves like an oily residue (like an oily fingerprint) that you have to even out on the paint surface. Otherwise it will leave light and dark spots. Klasse doesn't work well, however, as a cleaning wax for getting bird crap, water spots, etc. off. Use a Mother's Clay Bar system or equivalent, then use the Klasse to 'seal' the deal.

You can go to Kragen to pick up Mother's Clay Bar system. It's good stuff and leaves your car feeling like silk. What it does is picks up the small debris or "fall out" that gets lodged in paint that won't come out with a wash. It takes away that gritty feeling to your paint.

This is what I do:

1. Detergent wash to strip all the old wax off.
2. Clay bar.
3. Detergent wash again.
4. Polish
5. Wax

Since we're plugging products, I use Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection:
