HID kit - pls recommend one!

hey. There are a bunch of good kits out there. I hear that mcculloch is kinda bad though.
Also, lots of kits have different standards. Like my kit from Taiwan is "8000K", but it's white with a hint of purple around the edges...
Philips is good. CATZ is awsome if you can actually find em.
There are those no-name brands which are decent. They are a lot cheaper and should give you a good 3 years.

The proper way to add HIDs to an 04 is to install a set of the STi HID light assemblies. Retrofitting HIDs into the OEM halogen housings generally does not give good results since the reflectors are not designed for HIDs. The STi lights may look similar but they are designed differently to accomodate the output of HID bulbs.
Some people who tried the retrofit in their 04's were sufficiently unhappy with the results that they gave up and either went back to OEM halogens or bought the STi lights.
Also bear in mind that all HID retrofit kits are illegal and the NHTSA cracked down on this last year. As a result reputable vendors no longer sell them. They are still available from smaller, less well known vendors and quality varies as does customer service.
