Grill mesh - what are you using?

Looking into some 316 stainless woven mesh for my new front grill and was wondering what you guys were using...

If you know any of your spec's (mesh size, wire diameter, opening width, % open area), that would be helpful.

I'm a little concerned since this is gonna go in front of my radiator, that I wanna keep the % open area large, but stylistically...I'm looking for something like a 6x6, 0.063" wire dia, 52% OA and think it might be too restrictive. Think like the heavy mesh grill you see on new Jaguars.

PS - Already know about gutter (ghetto) mesh and think it looks like crizzap

look at McMaster-Carr at mcmaster.com,

search for woven mesh and you'll see the options.

Any input/opinions would be great...

OK steve, you asked for it:

you see there are these little numbers under your name that tell the world how many posts you have on the forum.

In days gone by, there was a reward for having a high post count, in that such "contributors" to the forum would be allowed to post an "Avatar" or small graphic image to their profile, which you will note under the names of some of the people on the board, like daredevil's flying WRC car above.

Some people place a great value upon these little numbers as if the number or avatar means anything at all- but in order to raise their numbers, they will post short, nonsequitorial or otherwise wasteful items just to increase their post count.

We call these people post ******, for it seems they will stoop to unknown depths, merely annoying serious forum users such as yourself for the sake of their own self-glorification.

It has become much harder to be a post ***** these days though, since our boardcaptains have determined that only posts to "technical forums" will be counted towards the public post count.

I find it rather curious that there are no "technical" forums, but I presume they mean the performance forums, as my posting over there brought me up to 10
Woo Hoo!

Soundwaves one-liner, which probably speaks for 99% of north cal subaru owners, doesn't help you any, (you can see from my car what happens with stock grille for protection) and is not atypical of post-***** practices from recent months.

So daredevil, (who has been accused of doing more than a little post prostitution a time or two himself) was gently ripping on soundwaves glib and not particularly helpful reply to your inquiry.

we gotta hit the frisbee golf links again one of these days.
