e-brake and batt. light ???'s

what does it mean if the e-brake and batt. light on the dash do not go out after the engine is on. some-times the lights will go out after the tach. bounces over 35-4500rpm. or if i shut the car down and start before the engine dies. its weird and i dont see any lose connections? thoughts????

Very possibly a bad alternator and/or battery. Get them both checked out.

if they both go out similtaniously, then you got a connection issue.... if it is just the batt light then u got a alternator problem

That happens because as the pads wear the fluid level drops in the reservoir, and the light is connected to a level sensor. However if both the brake and battery lights are coming on at the same time, it indicates an electrical system problem rather than low fluid.

i had the same issue a few weeks back, my battery/ebrake lights turned on during a drive on the freeway. I already changed the batter 2 weeks prior. I looked under the hood and saw my powersteering belt on its last strand.

I changed both belts and the car is fine now.

Yes, a broken or slipping belt will cause those lights to come on. You'll also lose power steering.
