Do you have this head light problem?
My WRX keeps blowing head lights, but when replacing them for the third time the new ones didn't work, so I plugged the old ones back in. They worked and then I tried some older ones that I had laying around and they worked too.
Any way I was driving with them in for about a week and one blew again. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked for about 30 mins. Another thing is that when every time I use my high beam it seems to turn one head light out. And once one headlight goes out the other says on, but it seems random which one goes out first. Very weird and I was just wondering if you guys have had any problems like this before. I would take it in to the shop but I have so much of my own wiring in there I doubt they will do it under warranty.
Any one have any idea's?
Thanks,
Joe

Have you been using aftermarket bulbs, possibly higher than stock wattage? If so there is a good chance that the connectors and/or harnesses have been damaged by the excess heat generated by those bulbs. It is a common problem and the reason why you should stick with stock wattage.
You might have a short circuit somewhere. I once installed new corner bulbs on my previous car, and didn't get it in the socket quite right since it was hard to reach. My turn signal was then always on, and then when i used the turn signal, it blinked 3 times as fast, only on that side. The other side turn signal acted as normal. So i pulled out the bulb, and reinserted properly, and then it worked just fine. With that in mind, you might want to check your wiring or the voltage that is put to the headlights.
Rejects Cheep Bulbs
Ok so I checked everything over twice and it all looks good. I then went to put the same bulb in and it worked for like 10 min. I then put the stock bulb in and it worked!!! I really dont' get it so I'm assuming my car rejects cheep bulbs, so i ordered some silver stars.
Anyone else out there have this problem? It seems really weird.

yeah don't ever go with cheap bulbs, nothing but trouble...Silverstars are quality, and make the headlight brightness slightly more decent...
yeah no its really weird the other bulbs aren't blown they just stop working after a while and then i have to un plug them and then plug them back in. I have silver stars now and they work but we'll see for how long... thanks guys
