Meat Head has lost his head.
My favorite failed-actor-turned-Socialist Rob Reiner is preaching wealth redistribution yet again.
Under the guise of doing it for the children, he wants to tax the wealthiest 100K wage-earners in the PRK to finance universal preschool.
Putting aside the aspect that education is good, which it is, let's look at why his idea is flawed.
Meat Head's idea is to increase the income tax on couples that earn more than $800K/year or individuals that earn $400K/year.
"Wealthy" people in this State are a finite resource, which in turn means that they can only be made to contribute so much. Tax them too much, and they'll leave or put their money elsewhere.
Wealth people derive most of their income from the stock market and we all know what happens when the State budgets money that may not be there if the Dow takes a turn for the worse.
If universal preschool is so important, which I believe it is, then why don't all taxpayers share the burden of providing for it?
