Deep scratches on front bumper

I need your help/advice on how to fix some scratching.

The scratches are on the underside of front bumper; not very big, but pretty deep - the paint has come right off.

What can I do to fix this, short of repainting the whole bumper?

Will applying touch-up paint and rubbing compound help? (heard this tried somewhere).

Thanks!

Gimme a break man, while you're at it, you might as well polish out the inside of your tailpipe and pick all of the gravel out of your tires....

What I'm trying to say is, if you got those scratches before, you will probably get them again... I don't think its worth worrying about the paint on the underside of your bumper everytime you go from a flat to incline, or vice versa (thats when these happen)

Outta sight, outta mind

Well I understand what you're trying to say; however, one of my concerns (aside from the obvious 'show-and-shine') is rust entry points. Since the paint is completely gone from that area (probably total of about a square inch), its sitting wide open for rust buildup.

From what I understand, plastic bumpers dont rust very easily.

...or where is the painted metal under the front bumper?

LOL!

body shop can fill the surface and paint the bumper around the scratches, not the whole thing.
If they do a good job, itll come out perfect.
If they dont do a good job, the color might not come out perfect match.
but its underside, nobody will notice.

I wouldnt worry about it though.
Probably youll scratch it again

I'm trying to avoid body shops; had some bad experiences in the past with other cars.

I figure as long as I can try to do this myself - the better it is.
