black housing headlights

if i painted the headlight housing black, would it affect my light quality at all? im not talking about painting the reflective part..just the area around it if you know what i mean.

there wont be any probleming painting the frame because it's a separate piece of frame trim in front of the head light reflectors.... if you are talking about MY04..
alot of ppl have done it..
try searching on nasioc there is alot of thread on modifying the head light housing..

You won't even need to mask anything off, as kenji said that frame is seperate and completely removable. Once you take the light apart you'll see that the frame has nothing to do with light output at all.

have mine painted on my '04, and haven't noticed any changes in light output.
