Black housing for stock headlights
I've seen some stock WRX headlamps with a conversion which gives them a black housing around the projector... I want it sooooooo badly... I don't know how to do it, where to find it... below i will attach a picture. Someone please help me. I've got a 2002 wrx sportwagon.

if you do a search you may be able to find more on this as lots of people have done it. But I will give you the basics, they way I did it. First you have to remove all the bulbs and headlights from the car. Then you have to heat the headlights in the oven at about 250 for about 15 minutes. That is to loosen the silicone seal aorund the headlight so you can pry it apart. Once you pry it apart there is the chrome peice the back of the headlight and the front clear plastic. Then you paint the chrome piece. I used flat back 1000 degree engine enamel. Put on a lot of coats, also i sanded the chrome piece before i painted it. Once the paint has dried alot of people put the lights back int eh oven to get the original silicone soft to put the light back together. I didnt do this. I just put new silicone around the edges and put the lights back together. Then I put silicone all around the light where the two pieces met. I have experienced no condensation or anything in the light and i live in seattle. hope this helps

Just do a search for " headlight mod"
or "DIY headlight mod"
koji has the best looking setup. I have to wait until there's warmer weather up here in the great white north
good luck

but be careful though, a buddy melted his headlight doing this, he left it in there too long. iirc i preheated the oven to ~190 and left it (one at a time) in there for ten minutes.

I found the Koji headlight mod on www.clubwrx.net and it worked perfectly for me. I only heated to 200 degrees and for about 10 minutes. No melting at all. The hardest part was making sure the soft, sticky, black adhesive stayed off of the lens.

Headlights
yeah see, i cant afford to mess up right now and pay for a headlight. It looks tight but and i wish i could do it but i just cant if it takes melting and stuff i would mealt my headlights. I remember baking my lacrosse stick Junior year and leaving it in a little too long the thing was like mush i went to pick up the ball and the whol head would flex, badd experiences.

i couldnt sleep one night so decided to get rid of the amber peice sitting in the headlight so i baked those headlights. its actually so easier than i thought. i just put it in the oven for 15 mins at 250, and pulled them apart. took out the amber peice and put em back togother and heating em to seal. it took bout an hour or so, without painting. i plan on painting them a dark shade to match my black WRX. but honestly its not too hard, as long as you take off the screws that hold the clear peice to the housing first.

This looks like a really cool mod!, now that I have clear markers, xenon headlights....
easy bake my lights paint the inside and get rid of the yellow... add some eyelids... yeah....
couple of questions:
1. do you have to re-head to put them back together
2. when removing the yellow piece do you have to replace the bulb with a yellow one?
3. I've seen little bottles of subaru touch up pain (usualy sold in 1oz bottles for about $4) has anyone used that to paint the inside?
I have a black WRX but I think WR blue in the headlights would look sweet.
