2004 interior HVAC LED red conversion.
Hey there got this from IWSTI but I figured I would post this over here being Im over here more anyways. Ordered som red LED'd from autolumination.com to replace the crappy green lights that don't match our red sti cluster. Took all of 10 minutes start to finish (with taking pics). The bulbs are the red 74 neo wedge bulbs in the 3/8 type B style, you need 4 of them. Here's a mini how-to.
1-Pull out the cup holder, and remove the two phillips screws (do yourself a favor and use a magnetic screwdriver). Dont drop the cup holder screws, lol, I did and almost lost it in the car.
2-Pop out the radio bezel and you will see two plugs that go to the back of the HVAC controls, remove them. You will see the 4 phillips head plastic lights and they are just a little 1/4 turn to remove.
3-Put in your new ones and enjoy.
Only bad thing was one of the 4 LED's was faulty. I tried to swap it out in different spots but I geuss it just didn't work, I'll e-mail the seller and try to get it worked out. Here are some after pics, enjoy.
Dash apart, it helps to unplug the harness so you can shake out the old lights upside down.
The two bulbs in comparison.
Up close after, you can tell that one od the middle ones aren't working. Check out my cool Subaru navi background
Far away, so you can see the gauge cluster. And you can tell it matches very well.
