Transmission install clutch fork stuck

I'm in the process of installing a new transmission with RA gears into my 02 wrx. I removed the old transmission and mated the new one but the clutch fork will not move back. I did not remove the clutch or flywheel because they were both replaced recently. How much pressure is required to move the clutch fork back? It doesn't want to budge at all and is stuck forward.

the fork only goes in one way, did you rotate it and see if it goes in the other way from the orientation you have it at now. I am getting ready to do my clutch install and thats what the install directions said. I dont have the link handy at this very moment but it was on nazioc. just google search cutch install and it should pop up

My clutch for is sitting straight up..
It won't go down so it will engage.. it's like stuck
I tried putting the spring on it but it's sitting too high that the spring is too long
I need help on getting the fork to go down (towards the back of the engine bay/firewall)
It's stuck, did I install the tranny wrong?

looks like I didn't remove the throw out bearing from the pressure plate... Should I yank the transmission back off or is it easier to install the clutch fork over the throwout bearing after the tranny is already connected.

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but we are currently experiencing the same problem. What did you do? We really don't want to have to tear the tranny out again.
